Medicare Referrals

We accept Chronic Disease Management (CDM) referrals from your GP. While some GP clinics bulk bill, requiring no out-of-pocket expense, at Bec Brown Exercise Physiology, a gap payment is required.

As part of the management care plan, you may be eligible for up to five Medicare-subsidised allied health sessions per calendar year. The current Medicare rebate for Exercise Physiology is $60.35.

To claim this rebate:

  • All required forms must be provided on the day of your appointment.

  • We are unable to process both private health rebates and Medicare rebates for the same session.

Private Health Rebates

We offer HICAPS on-site claiming for those wishing to claim a private health rebate. Please ensure you bring either your physical or digital card with you to your appointment to process your claim.

The item numbers listed above can assist you in determining whether your private health fund covers the service you wish to claim.

Dance Healthcare Costs

As pre-pointe assessments are a specialised service, we charge accordingly. Each appointment is 90 minutes, allowing us to complete a thorough assessment and provide personalised home exercises.

Typically, dancers require only one pre-pointe assessment. If follow-up appointments are needed, they will be charged at the standard pricing listed above.

DVA, WorkCover & NDIS

Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)
We accept DVA referrals for Exercise Physiology services. A referral from your GP is required and must be completed using a valid D904 form. Services are billed directly to DVA, and there are no out-of-pocket expenses for eligible patients.

WorkCover QLD
For WorkCover clients, a referral from your GP, treating specialist, or WorkCover case manager is required. Approval from WorkCover is necessary prior to commencing treatment. Services are billed directly to WorkCover, and there are no out-of-pocket expenses for approved sessions.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
At this stage, Bec Brown Exercise Physiology is not a registered NDIS provider. However, we can see patients who are self-managed under the NDIS.

  • What does self-managed mean?
Self-managed participants have control over their NDIS funding and can choose their providers, even if those providers are not NDIS-registered

  • How does claiming work?
Patients are required to pay for services at the time of the appointment and then claim reimbursement through the NDIS portal using their itemised receipt.

Inclusivity & Flexible Pricing

At Bec Brown Exercise Physiology, we believe everyone should have access to quality care and support. If you are concerned about the pricing structure or your ability to access our services, please don't hesitate to reach out.

If you require multiple visits per week—for example:

  • Following surgery (post-op),

  • During a more acute stage of recovery, or

  • To meet your fitness goals with a preference for frequent sessions,

you may be eligible for a discounted price to accommodate this higher frequency of visits. Contact us to discuss your specific situation, and we’ll work together to create a plan that works for you.
